LHP hosted a Seasonal Affectve Disorder Party called Febuary Summer! Here, we gathered in Febuary, when depression rates are high, and brought celebration, community and summer vibes!
Upon entry, you were given free heart shaped sunglasses, bubbles and welcomed into the tropical oasis. Along with a options for activities!
The SAD event had an interactive seminar at the beginning of the night. This reviewed the basics and science of SAD, our shared experiences and multiple coping techniques to help us cope through winter.
People came and enjoyed the summer themed mocktails, photobooth, and dance floor!
There were more mellow and quiet areas where people could come together in smaller community, talk, play games, engage in teh reflection area on summer and winter thoughts/experiences and just relax.
In the backroom, there were lounge areas to enjoy sunset lighting cast on the walls, use a SAD lamp and "sun bathe" with your pals and learn about the role of light in the experience of SAD.
LHP hosted a queer event during pride to promote leaning into who we are, celebrating and laughing. This included a queer book seller for content!
Our Pride event had a U-Haul decked out like an apartment for all people in the community to come hang, talk, eat, find new friends, play yard games, check out books and content and stay for our concert!
We featured queer artists with fun, community building music to dance to! The energy this evening was connected and warm!
LHP partnered with Lava Hot Yoga Studio to host a Somatic workshop covering how to detect emoion in the body, release emotion, breathing and movement techniques and more!

The facilitators reppping some swag of the studio location where this was hosted. The workshop included a combination of movement developed by Dr. Bercell and Martha Graham to create ultimate release. We reviewed breathing, tapping and bi-lateral stimulation. Everyone left with a personalized toolkit!

Lionheart's Pride Event!
This is a peek at some of our merch for the event. We also held an auction with OutHudson and raised money for mental health and safe sanctuary for immigrants.
This Pride Parade and celebration was Wizard of Oz themed! So a dear friend looked at me while we were in Stonewall... and we knew we would be decorating yellow bricks with the community!
Our mental health resource table! People were able to peruse during the event, ask questions about local menatl health, queer resources and more.
Another U-haul! This one was "over the rainbow" and Ozian, queer-chic! A safe space to relax within community and make new friends.
There truly is no place like home! We clicked our heels and ended up with a wonderful gathering of family that continues to grow.
